Sascha Martin’s Rocket-Ship

“If you can only afford one disaster in your life this year, make it Sascha Martin’s Rocket-Ship!”Cover design for Sascha Martin's Rocket-Ship, a kids sci fi picture book by John Arthur Nichol. Cover design by Manuela Pentangelo.

Sascha Martin’s Rocket-Ship is a wild, funny, deliciously silly adventure wrapped in rhyming verse and Manuela Pentangelo’s wonderful illustrations. Flying pies meet screaming teachers high above the school in this debut disaster featuring Sascha Martin, an eight-year old boy whose genius knows no responsibility.

“Delightful, rhyming story that keeps your fingers turning the pages.” E. C. Kraeft, author of White Castle.

Sascha Martin

Sascha Martin is not your average Year Two schoolboy. He’s an inventor. He has a secret lab beneath his room, where he creates impossible things.

He lives in the spookiest part of town, but that’s okay because his best friend Luca lives next door. Their not-friend Mary-Alice lives just up the street.

The Rocket-Ship

Sascha’s just built a thumping great rocket that towers over everyone, so what does he do with it? He brings it to school for news!

But a real live rocket-ship … isn’t that dangerous, in a room full of kids?

No of course not, because he’s told them not to touch.

So what could possibly go wrong?

The Adventure

Sascha Martin’s Rocket-Ship explodes with mayhem and laughter, so join Sascha as he roars into the skies above Landfill Public School with two hapless teachers, an oven full of pies, and a growing tail of books and toys.
